Sea Bass feed on or near the bottom. Using a jig head, or better yet, a drop shot rig will keep you in the strike zone longer.
When your looking for new areas to catch Sea Bass, try looking at natural or artificial reefs from 60′ on out. Many of these numbers can be found online through local marine agencies.
Try rigging a second bait inline dropper style to increase your chances of doubling up. Sea Bass often school together.
Remember to use appropriate sized tackle to get the most out of these little guys. 20 pound braided line on a medium spinning outfit works perfect.
