Best Sellers: Bonito and Albies Lures

Hogy® Best Selling Bonito and Albie Lures

Ok, we realize that false albacore and “bonita” are the same fish. We also realize that the “same” fish is also a “different” fish in the North than in the South… For whatever reason, they are not that easy to catch up here in the Northeast at Hogy® central and they are a highly sought after game fish. There’s many a time when the “won’t eat anything!” except… a 7inch Hogy® original Amber. Atlantic Bonito, primarily a Northern fish behave them same! Cranky! A few tips.

Top Ranked Bonito and Albie Lures:

The 7inch Original: The 7inch Original is often larger than the typical rain bait but all we know is this lure is a major top producer for bonito and albies. Amber, bubble gum and bone are favorite colors.

The Hogy® Sand Eel: These hard to beat imitations are perfect imitators of small sand eels, rain bait and other small forage. Ideal for rigging on our small weighted swim bait hooks and jig heads.

The SI Epoxy Jig:
The SI Epoxy Jig features a vivid scale finish core surrounded by a double coat of epoxy for excellent durability and natural refraction of light.

With through-wire construction, stainless steel split ring and VMC 4x treble hook, the SI Epoxy Jig is designed for medium to fast retrieve, perfect for fooling selective false albacore, bonito and any gamefish that relies on excellent eyesight when attacking its prey. Six high definition colors available to imitate a huge range of baitfish.

The SI Heavy Minnow Jig: We took molds from our most popular sizes of epoxy jigs, wrapped them in HD Holographic finish and gave them a heavy metal core. These jigs are perfect players to have in your bull-pen to deal with heavy winds or when fish are holding in deeper water. Rigged with VMC 4x treble and HD split rings.

Top Ranked Bonito and Albie Rigging:

5/0 Swim bait hook: Weedless. 3/8oz will add extra casting distance. The extra weight in the nose will stabilize the front portion of the bait allowing for maximum tail wiggle.
